Crochet Mintmallow Holiday Graphghan

The Crochet Mintmallow Holiday Graphghan is an intermediate level free holiday pattern reminiscent of peppermint cocoa with marshmallows.

Design Inspiration

I wanted this pattern to convey that cozy peppermint hot chocolate feeling. The Scandinavian snowflake represents the milk and marshmallows I like to put in my cocoa. Wishing for snow this holiday season, so baby girl and I can watch through the window while huddled up in this soft treat blanket.

Marshmint Holiday Graphghan Pattern Instructions

Forming a Box

Ch 5, dc in the third ch from the hook, dc 1 in the next two chs (3 dc + 1 ch2 sp)

Forming the Pattern

Repeat the steps to create the next box

At the end of the second box, turn and sl st into the ch2 sp

Ch 2, dc 3 in the same ch2 sp

Continue adding boxes in this method throughout the pattern (I find that it helps to print out the image pattern and cross off boxes as you go)

When you come to the end of the middle (the ends of the first two sides) sl st and ch 2, DO NOT dc

Turn, sl st into the ch2 sp of the last box of the previous row, continue making boxes across

At the end of each row, repeat the ch2 sl st to create the remaining sides of the square

Border

Using Color B, sc around twice, end off

Using Color B and Color C together, sc around twice, end off

Peppermint Accents

Make a magic circle, ch 1, hdc 6 into the circle, sl st in the top of the first st, end off, sew into boxes indicated in the pattern by O

Make 12
