Design Inspiration
Trigger Warning: Pregnancy. Around this time two years ago, our family received exciting news. We were finally expecting our rainbow baby. When trying to decide on our little’s nursery theme I could not think of anything but rainbows. Before I knew it, the nursery was filled with pastel rainbow crochet. Our little girl is now almost a year and a half old, and she’s beginning to learn the basics of letters, numbers, and colors. Another chance for rainbows to shine! This set is a great educational tool that can be used for color sorting and matching as well as counting.

A rainbow-themed colors and counting education set made using two simple and free patterns.
Materials
Yarn: Craft Smart® Value (weight 4 – medium)
Color A – Off White (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m) – 1 skein
Color B – Light Pink (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m)– 1 skein
Color C – Light Coral (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m) – 1 skein
Color D – Light Yellow (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m) – 1 skein
Color E – Spa (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m) – 1 skein
Color F – Light Blue (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m) – 1 skein
Color G – Periwinkle (7oz/198g, 354yd/324m) – 1 skein
*I chose these colors for the pastel look, but you can use any colors
Hook: G/6 – 4.50mm

Finished Dimensions: Cup – 2.50″ height x 3.00″ diameter, Heart – 1.50″ length x 1.25″ width

Crochet Colors of My Heart Education Set – Instructions
Cup
In color A, make a magic circle
Round 1: ch1, sc 12 into the magic circle (12)
Round 2: *sc 1, sc 2 in the next st, repeat from * around (18)
Round 3: *sc 1, sc 2 in the next st, repeat from * around (27)
Round 4-5: sc 1 in each st around (27)
Round 6: *sc 1, sc 2 in the next st, repeat from * around (40)
Round 7-13: sc 1 in each st around (40)
Change colors in the last st of round 13
Round 14-15: sc 1 in each st around (40)
Finish off and sew in ends
Make as many as you wish (I made six cups)

Round 1: ch3, tc 3, dc 3, ch1, dc 3, tc 3, ch2 sl st all into the magic circle (6 tc, 6 dc)
Pull the center tight, finish off, an sew in ends
Make as many as you wish in each color (I made three, but will add more for counting learning later)
