Design Inspiration

It’s that red, white, and blue season between Memorial Day and July 4th. Time to break out your festive, patriotic decor. This eight-point star is the perfect size for laying on a tabletop or tossing over the back of a chair. Why eight points? I’m a little corny and I love adding personal touches to my patterns; my husband and I have been together for eight years now. Told ya. Corny.

An easy crochet pattern that makes adding patriotic charm to your home a summer breeze. 

Materials

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (weight 4 – medium)
Color A – Soft Navy (7oz /198g, 364yds/333m) – 1 skein
Color B – Soft White (7oz /198g, 364yds/333m) – 1 skein
Color C – Cherry Red (7oz /198g, 364yds/333m) – 1 skein

Hook: H/8 – 5.00mm

In color A, make a magic circle

Round 1: ch 2, hdc 7 into the magic circle, sl st into the top of the beginning ch 2 (8)

Round 2: ch 2, dc 1 in the same st, dc 2 in each st around, sl st into the top of the beginning ch 2 (16)

Round 3: ch 2, *sk the next st, [dc 1, ch 2, dc 1] in the next st, repeat from * around, dc 1 in the same st as the beginning ch 2, ch 2, sl st into the top of the beginning ch 2 (16 dc, 8 ch2-sp)
